Wanna make one thing clear: the ‘notes on access’ don’t necessarily refer to getting in to the clubs and the ‘notes on excess’ don’t really refer to what happens in our spots, either. Hopefully this will all make more sense as this thing grows. Who knows? Who cares?
It only seems right that I should plug tonight’s show at Bar None – Clinton (Get Familiar!) Sparks.

I’m pretty psyched on this one. Dude has managed to remain relevant and get rich at the same time, which is some tough shit to pull off. I wasn’t super stoked on him until I heard the ‘We Got It For Cheap Vol 2’ mixtape he did with the Clipse. I’m not a blogger and have no idea what I’m doing. Someone suggested that I do a running history of music – or at least albums that I like – but that would never work due to the fact that chronological order and my brain don’t necessarily jive.

Put this in the ‘things I never thought I’d say’ category: I’ve been bumping a few songs from this Urge Overkill album recently and a surprising cross-section of people have commented how they loved this album and blah blah and it’s rad that I’m playing it but I got to tell the truth here: I never listened to this thing when it came out. It was 1993. I’d be damned if I was listening to anything new that wasn;t rap-related.Just getting in to it now but this shit is dope. I heard these guys cleaned up and are on the road again. Neat.

On second thought, perhaps I will do a very subjective music history lesson type thing. Might be fun…
